L92 vvt with msd 6012 controller

Default L92 vvt with msd 6012 controller

I about to to install a L92 with vvt with a carb and need to know if the msd 6012 controller will work the vvt?
I know it will run the 58 tooth crank but will it have problems with the vvt?

If I remember the VVT has a seperate connection for the cam phaser. I am not sure what the system defaults to when it's not energized.

The 6012 will run the L92 but won't run the VVT.

I will check and see what the default is. I don't think that it's the retard mode. If so then it should run without the controller.

Say goodbye to all youre VVT benifits....

Without a VVT controller the phaser will stay in the advanced position and give you great bottom end, but will kill 40-50hp or so out of the top end. Itll fall on its face like the old TPI engines did.

Use it with the Factory EFI and gain all the benifits! I would do anything to have a phaser in my truck!!!!!!!

This guy is right. With the VVT not activated you are going to leave alot of performance on the table. As far as I know, our M-90 controller is the only aftermarket ECM that will run VVT.

So, is it an on/off type of thing? Could you put an RPM activated switch on it to turn it on at say 3000 rpm?
