VVT possible without GM tranny?
I want to put an otherwise stock L92 and keep the VVT into my Porsche 944. The catch is, they have transaxles, like vettes, so I wont be able to use the T56 or any other GM tranny. Does the PCM just need engine load and such to make the VVT work, or does it also need speed or gear sensors from the tranny for it to function? The 944 transaxle does have an electronic speed sensor but I don't know if the PCM can be recalibrated? Thanks in advance!!

This is no problem. The VVT doesn't care what transmission you use.
Hope this helps!
