Default How's this for an LS7 exhaust!!

This is for a FFR GTM supercar we are trying to finish up at work. This exhaust was the owners idea. 3 cutouts per bank. One strait pipe, one through just the cat, then one through the cat and the muffler. Some of it still needs finish welded, the welds that are done you cannot really see because of the bad quality of the cell phone camera. I still need to find locations for all the cutouts and cut the pipe and install them. The collector on the LS7 manifold is oval so the exhaust side flange was machined and the collector pipe I handmade to match the opening.

+1 for creativity, but I have to ask why?

I understand the point of a cutout, but why this configuration?

thats what the customer wants. If it was mine I would just have one cutout and two configurations.

He basically told us he wants the strait pipe, a pipe with just a cat and one that goes through the cat and muffler. I had to figure out how to fit it all in such a small area and still try and make it flow decent.

I remember you posted about building that first GTM y'all did... This exhaust setup is definitely creative... and original ... and will look ugly going all over the engine... I'm assuming it'll be 3 sets of electric cutouts.

This is that same GTM. It did some traveling around the country for some shows and is back at the shop getting all finished up.

I wasn't saying it was the best looking exhaust, but I did the best I could with the space available.

Nah man, I wasn't saying you did a bad job fitting it all in there. Honestly, you made it look better than I imagined as I was reading the beginning. I was trying to say that since you can see the motor all the time it would look better without 6 cutouts and 3 different pipe routes...

I know what you were saying. It is a little rediculous, but you have to do what the customer wants. Maybe after seeing this mess of pipes he will change his mind before it is all finish welded and ceramic coated.
