Default best headers for 408?

So ive heard several opinions on what headers are best for my 408. Some think 1 3/4 are plenty, and others think ill see a decent increase out of 1 7/8s. What about stepped from 3/4-7/8? proof/reasoning?

Ive got poll responses but no real feedback one way or the other.. Would it be WORTH selling my $200 exhaust to buy $800 headers and spend another 200 or so on a Y setup.

Kooks makes great quality headers thats for sure! We typically stock several different flavors of Kooks headers, and even a few sets of the TSP 1 7/8" headers if your on a budget & looking for coated mild steel headers!!

Not try to hijack your post but which is better for the heat: The ceramic coated headers or the 304 stainless (not wanting a lot of heat from under the hood) ? I am also on the market for some headers for a procharged 451 lsx and need the same info.

First I used QT 1-3/4" headers on my Ls2. I switched to kooks 1-7/8". Now I satisfied.
