ARP bolts.....TQ spec?
ARP bolts.....TQ spec? I seem to have oil coming out from under my heads where they meet the block...I was told the ARP bolts need to be TQ'ed like the factory head bolts like TQ to 20 lbs, then do a 90 degree, then 70 degree. 2 passes. Is this correct?
That's incorrect. I THINK it's 75 with ARP lube and 85 with 30wt motor oil. I can't seem to find the paper that cam with my head bolts to verify these numbers. I tried finding it on the ARP website but that's a damn joke.

Just did a head swap with ARP bolts the other night.
Starting the main bolts, you torque them, in sequence, to ~35 ft-lbs (I did two passes to make sure) then you torque the smaller bolts (in sequence) to 23 ft-lbs Then, to finish up, you torque the larger bolts to 70 ft-lbs and re-torque the smaller ones to 23 ft-lbs. Again, I did two passes just to be safe.
This was with ARP Moly lube and was stated on their instructions that came in the box - first pass torque settings were suggested by Erik @ HKE.

that sequence is only for tq to yield bolts which the stock ones are ARP's you just tq normally. Its been awhile but discofreak ^ sounds about right with those specs
