How to test is a coil is dead
How to test is a coil is dead I have my engine apart and found that 1 cyl was not fireing. Is there a way to test a coil with a meter to see if it is functioning? I cant hook up the ing as the car is in 100 peices
i heard you just disconnect the spark plug wire from your spark plug and hold it near a metal suface... if you see an "arc" of electricity, it's working...
the car must be running of course... it'll run like crap with a cylinder not firing, but it'll run so that you can try this method non the less...

You can use an ohm meter but the thing is the coil may work fine for the test but not at high rpm. Those coils of yours are going on 10years old- I would just replace them all as many of us have already.
BTW-stick with the stock stuff, people have had issues with the aftermarket one's ( I don't want to mention the manufacturer).
