What is the 241 and 243 head?
If you're going to answer it, at least get it right.
'97-'98 have 806 castings and perimeter bolt valve covers.
'99 through early '00 LS1s got 853 castings.
late '00-up LS1s got 241 casting heads.
LS6 and LS2 motors (as well as alot of other motors) got 243 heads. All of these are identical except the '01-'04 Z06 LS6 motors got 243 castings with lighter hollow intake and sodium filled exhaust valves and command a premium on price while the other motors got stuck with regular steel valves. The 799 casting is identical to the non LS6 243 head as well. All of this info was readily available with a search (which I did to verify my info). Can't help you with the LS3 casting numbers.
