Help, open header drive ok or tow?
My problem is the exhaust shop is about a 35 mile drive away from the shop that did my swap. I am not worried about noise pollution or smog, I am however terrified of the possibility of starting a fire due to running open stock manifolds. I have been in and have driven open header LS1 in the past, but it was open long tubes which looks WAY safer than running open headers on stock LS1 manifolds.
Has anyone ever been put in a situation where they had to drive their LS1 on stock open headers? I had to tow my car to the shop it is currently located at and I would hate to have to tow the car again from this shop to the exhaust shop. Any thoughts?
