Default 4L80E and TCI trany contoller

I'm having with a engine/trans setup. Here are the specs:
GMPP LS3 with a drive by wire throttle body, GMPP LS3 engine controller.
4L80 with a stand alone TCI Gen II trans controller.
Both installed in a 1971 Camaro.

My issue is finding the correct TPS signal to use with the trans controller. I was told by TCI to "just find the output signal of your TPS". I found that there are several different types of TPS signals with my drive by wire setup. I tried to use the "tps signal 1" off of the throttle body harness. Note: I only tied into the TPS signal wire. I was afraid to tie into the ground and power side of the 3 wire plug suppied by TCI. With the wiring connected in this manner the engine would not start. As soon as the TCI controller was removed from the "TPS signal 1" the engine started an ran fine. So, theres an issue there. Does anyone have any ideas where I could connect the TPS signal needed for my trans controller?

I know this is old, but did you figure this out? I have a similar issue. I believe I only need to hook up the single tps wire?
