Default LS2 - GTO vs G8

I want to swap a LS2/T56 into my 1991 Trans Am GTA. What is the difference between an LS2/T56 from a GTO and an LS2/T56 from a G8? Were there any other auto platforms that had this motor/tranny?

I'm trying to find a motor/tranny combo with under 30,000 miles.

Thanks!
Bill

There was no LS2/T56 G8. The G8 GXP was an LS3 and I believe the 6 speed standard was not a T56 it was a TR6060. The auto had an L76 and 6-speed auto.

LS3 in the GXP with either transmission, L76 with a baby cam in the GT. L76 is pretty much the same as an LS2, though. Just that it has the baby cam in our case. And there's displacement on demand in the GT but not the GXP. Yes, the manual in the GXP is the 6060.

Edit: Oh, and L92 heads in the L76. Better.

The LS2 came in the GTO's (05-06), Vettes, TBSS, and SSR. Not sure that any of them under 30K are going to be "cheap".
