Default MAF location on custom intake

I'm making a custom intake for the camaro soon, trying to decide where to put the MAF sensor? I'm prob going to use 4 inch pipe with a 90* bend and have the intake located in the fender, should i have the MAF more towards the filter or the throttle body? Also what would be the best material to fabricate this intake out of? I was thinking aluminum...

Here is how I have mine setup. I centered the MAF in the tubing so there is a straight section of air flow in front and behind the MAF, the MAf is also away from radiant heat so the IAT readings are more realistic and less chance of heat soak.

Here's mine. Unfortunately, I don't have the space for much tubing and the MAF location was dictated by it's outer dimensions and the proximity of the surrounding components.
