Can anyone tell me the difference between LS6 and LS2 243 heads? I just picked up a set of LS2 243's for $250.00. Thanks Dave

Valves. LS6 has the sodium filled, while the LS2 has solid stem. Other than that I don't think there's any difference. That's good price either way.

damn you got a steal! i been tryna find some that cheap for a good time
get em ported by reputable portwork shop and u can get thesse heads to flow real well!

Thank you for your replys. I'm glad to hear that. I'm also glad that I finally got a good deal that went my way!!! LOL. I see i can change to the LS6 vlaves for around $185.00 per head. Then I will only need some good springs to run a bigger lift cam. Thanks again Dave

How much porting do these heads need to flow real well?

Even a good valve job will pick up nice gains.

LS6 243's valves have hollow intake and sodium filled exhaust to withstand the extra heat on the exhaust side....Still a killer deal

In stock form, my 243's flowed well enough to make 480rwhp through a 6spd and an IRS. This was with a 23x/24x, .64x/.61x cam. They can make some serious power.
