Default Doing something wrong measuring Pushrod length HELP PLEASE

Okay so putting together my lq4 bottom end CNC'd ls3 heads milled .030 and cometic .040" gaskets.

got the cylinder in question at TDC, made sure the adj pushrod checker is on the base circle and come up with something int he 8.00" range which sounds completely wrong to me in every shape and form.

we made a solid lifter with washers, and set it to no preload and measured with the cometics

I know I have to be doing something wrong...can someone please set me straight?

this stopped me from claying the pistons today to check my PTV

Chad

I would expect them to be around .050 shorter than stock since that's about what you have lost due to milling and thinner gaskets.

almost 45 views and 1 reply...thanks man I'm thinking they should be somewhere in the 7.3x range I need to borrow the pushrod checker again but need to wait until my ls7 lifters get here...there is a slight difference in measurements between the ls1 and ls7's...

FWIW, we compared LS7 lifters to some stock '06 lifters and they were the same dimensions. If you need some 7.350 pushrods though, I have a set for sale

I wish I'd seen them. I just bought a set of 7.35 last night.

Are you running solid lifters in the end for your build?

I'd look into the lifter cup height vs the LS7 or whatever lifter you will be using.

what he said...Jake as far as I know they are the same dimensions but the cup sits higher in the ls7's

stealing this picture from Predator-Z LS7 on the left, LS1 on the right.

Jake if you still have them in a few days and my measurements come out to 7.350's I'll take them
