L92 w/ CtSv s/c?
I have the L92 engine out of a 2007 Caddy ESV that I am transplanting into a 4x4.
It was 403hp/417tq stock.
This engine has VVT, but none of the E85 or cylinder shutoff.
What I am wanting to do is install a s/c from a new CTS-V, possibly something like a MAST cam, different ECU and a set of Doug Thorley headers.
Has anyone done this?
Any thoughts as to power and tq?
Would the VVT cause any issues when running FI or vice versa?
The caddy LS3 puts out what, 558hp/551tq, so I would assume the same numbers from the L92 if a s/c added? I know the CR on the caddy is only 9:1 compared to my 10.5:1, but just running lower boost would correct for that right?
I would "think" that by adding headers, no cats, better exh, cam (any suggestions?) and an ECM like the MAST one, you would put out more than the stock caddy numbers?
I called Magnuson, and they claim an added 120hp and tq "at the rear wheels" which I assume is about 150hp dyno? They do flash the ecm, but thats all.
Any thoughts or input is greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Or you could do the new ZR1 s/c, which is a 2300 vs the 1900 on the caddy.
Not sure why the caddy puts out 551lbs tq and the vette only in the 475lb range. Of course the vette puts out 640hp compared to the 558 of the caddy. Maybe thats too much tq for the lighter car?
I think the CTSv s/c would be more than enough as it will never see over 5500 rpm most likely.
