Questions about ls2 engine PLEASE HELP! I just pulled an ls2 out of a 06 GTO car had a rod blown through the side of the block.. i was just interested to know what kind of things off the ls2 will work with the ls1 i.e. heads, cam, intake manifold etc... or anything that would be worth keeping.. the block is junk.. and the parts guy wont even take it for a core, so its going to the dump, i would like to salvage anything if its worth it...
The 243 heads would be a great upgrade for your LS1, it's a very popular one to do.
As far as the cam, it's a little better but it's not worth it. If you're going to go thru the trouble of a cam swap, at least put something in there a little bigger.
The intake manifold is junk, don't even bother.
That's about it as far as performance upgrades you can do off an LS2, maybe the manifolds also as they are a little bit lighter than the LS1 ones, but that's about it.

You could get them for a few hundred bux and should net you some 10-15+ hp depending on mods, and with yours it will be on the lower end of that spectrum since you don't have a cam or anything like that to take full advantage of those.
