That's a pretty interesting thread, thanks for the info.

Not sure on accessories still, looks like the alternator is too high, I also need to lose the power steering pump, any chance I could relocate the alt to where the ps was?

Tippy, I'm doing the exact build, so here is what I found. You need to use the LS1 water pump to clear the LS3 throttle body. I chose to go with an electric pump. As far as the alternator, grab an LS1 alternator mount and make some 3/4" spacers, just like cam did..it works perfect. I am also running no power steering so it's really clean and down low. If you go with the LS1 water pump, I believe you need to use the corvette tensioner.

Now I have a question for you. You asked the question about converting the 6l80e to 2wd a while back. Did you find the answer what it would take to do that yet? I might be doing the same thing if it's not to difficult. Thanks

So far I've had conflicting answers, here are the different stories:

1 you need a new tailhousing and yoke.

2 you need a new tailhousing, output shaft and yoke

3 you need a new tailhousing, output shaft, yoke and to drill one hole to allow fluid to get all the way back.

My problem has been finding someone to do it, have the parts, have the money, my area sucks for skilled work.

Circle D never responded to my phone call, I asked in their thread and will see how they answer.

As far as accessories, the ls1 water pump works on the L92 or do I need a 2010 camaro water pump?

Save your money and get an ls1 water pump. You can get them new at any auto parts store, may be special order. The ls3 pump is pretty sweet if your radiator bung is on the drivers side though.

Thanks for the info, keep me posted if you don't mind. How much did the parts run for the 2wd conversion?

Default Ls3 manifold on L92

In my build I am only driving the water pump and an alternator. I made mounts for the alternator [down low on the drivers side] and had to add 2 idlers and made a spacer for the mechanical williams tb that I am using. If you want, I could post a photo of my install.
