ls3 knock sensor conversion

ls3 knock sensor conversion I have just spend the last couple days in the garage replacing the ls6 in my CTS-V with a stroked ls3. I ordered the knock sensor conversion kit and just set it beside the car-so I have everything on the car, exhaust, tranny, etc etc (except the supercharger) and the last electrical issue i had to do was the knock sensors-I now know that i had to drill out the side of the block to fit the old style knock sensors. I dont want to pull the motor back out (but I will if I HAVE to) Is there any way to put an extension that would adapt the knock sensor to the smaller hole in the block? would it work properly? Do i need them? Or should i just suck it up and start undoing the exhaust......
Has anyone tapped these with the motor in the car?
Any advice would be appreciated.

Yes. I had to do this to my ls2. Which I have a 2000 ws6 that had ls1 in it. Just unbokt the ls2 sensor and get a drill for a m10 tap and the m10 tap(if ur using the old style ls1 ks tthey wont read the ls2 as the ls2 is a 2 wire as ls1 is a 1 wire. They also do make a harness extention for the cars with the 04 05 and up year motors. Lingenfelter and also could trt katech. So just depends what car you have and what sensors it reads. Bc u cant put ls2 2 wire sensors and have it read correct knock on a ls1 ecu
