LQ4 Build Just brough my LQ4 home last night. I will be swapping this into an 86 Monte Carlo SS. Keep in mind the #7 cyl has a burnt valve. I planned on running the stock bottom end with the exception of changing the rod bolts. Can you guys give me some input on combo's to attain about 450. New heads, stock or after market? Intake, t/b? Cam, springs, pushrods? I will run it daily. Looking to drive with setup for a while and next summer I plan to go FI with a BDS MFI 671. I am not very famaliar with these motors and have been doing research but wanted input from people who have done it before. Thanks guys.
rebuild new heads. with new valves. REV make excellent replacement valves. assuming the guides are in acceptable condition. and nothing else is damaged.
studs and ls9 gaskets work very well for psi. if u eventually will go power adder.
since the scr is around 9.4-9.5:1. depends what gaskets used.
