2 problems with my car

2 problems with my car #1 is my radiator temp keeps going to 260 if i'm in low speeds too much or stopped. It shut off the other week when i was by my house and i don't know what the problem is. problem #2 is when it's really hot my car starts to lurch and stutter like a blurb blurb then it will start to go and sound like WOT. I'm stumped, when it's cool in the morning i don't have this problem but when my car sits at work all day and is hot it has the problem.
