Overcoming a small plenum
The basic rundown will be a Reg cab truck which should be in the neighborhood of 4000lbs with driver, aluminum block L76 truck engine, which I will be deleting AFM and VVT. The heads will come off and get milled and cleaned up, nothing too serious there. I'm shooting for solid 11s on motor and who knows with the bottle. 4000 converter, built 60E, 4.56s etc.... Like I said it will be driven plenty but I'm not concerned with "manners" persay. The camshaft will be in the 240s with .600"ish lift. Healthy, but not huge. The intake manifold has been my hang-up so far. I've already decided on an Accufab 4bbl throttle body and necessary fuel system.
Has anyone added a carb spacer to a Vic Jr with any success? I would like the bigger plenum, but it's not really available in the price range I'm looking at...... Any ideas?
weve even talked about loosening it up a little more based on cam choice, but with the nitrous being thrown on top I dont want to blow thru it, so the 4000 seemed like the best all around choice. I've considered a cowl hood and sealing the intake to the hood and having it draw in from the cowl... either way I should have room... just wondering about the benefit from adding a 1" or so spacer... I will have a nitrous plate, but I dont know if that will be enough.

Obviously different displacement/heads (and I'm certain his cam is more mild than you will go with) and not sure if it makes a difference or not, but it is carb'd

I'd like to hear what some of the big wigs have to say about this one too
