ARH Y-pipe fitment issues....
So we're installing my kooks headers and go to mate up the ARH Y-pipe (No CATs) and it's not mating at all on the driver's side. It's short by several inches. What gives? Anyone run into a problem like this? Part number is LS1YPNC (not sure if this vendor specific), but it clearly states in the description it's a ARH Y-pipe (No CATs) for 98-02 Camaro/Firebird. I've contacted the company to verify this is the correct part for my '01 T/A, but I thought I would see if anyone had some info. on this if they've run into it before. I went with the ARH Y-pipe, bc I hear the fitment is second to none.
Ugh, so frustrating. I really don't want to have to go through all the trouble of shipping this piece BACK and then having to wait for another Y-pipe to come in....

I guess because I was told so... I didn't think it would be an issue. It would make sense to me that due to routing, pipes would be pretty standard regular with their measurments. i.e. all headers/y-pipes have the same spacing to work with across f-bodies and long tubes are long tubes... Was that being naive?

Haha.. I didn't even realize I had posted in the wrong section until you just mentioned that. Oh Well, I guess I'm going to return it and get the kooks y-pipe then...

Yeah, I honestly thought those parts were pretty interchangeable with all the mixing and matching that goes on, esp. with exhaust sytems. Anyhow, I've been in contact with the vendor and we're working on shipping things around to get the right parts in. Not the end of the world...

yeah theyre all 'the same' design, but some headers have the collector further forward/back, or have a different shape to the y, etc.
That one would have worked, once you took it to a muffler shop. I thought about using my qtp y with my ARHs, but opted to ditch the possibly better y for the same idea, fitment (plus now itll be fully stainless w my magnaflow)

While some designs are similar ARH's routing are unique as Adam has seen firsthand in our parts not working with other manufacture's since they are intended to be used with as a full system.
