Default Very Hot IAT's

I bought the Super Vic setup with the metal intake tube. Turns out the metal tube is getting very hot. We were seeing 190F on idling IAT's. Going down the road IAT was 124F with an ambient temp of 94F. So I modified it. I took the tube off. The MAF is still there because I needed it to pass emissions. It will be removed once it goes back for the WOT tuning after engine break in.

Why not put a thermal barrier on the tube?
