Default Considering a bigger header

Ok, awhile back, I did a LS3 427 and tranny swap in my CETA. On the dyno, it made 508rwhp/480rwtq. Im happy with this setup. But, I was wondering if I was to go to 1 7/8s headers on this motor, how much of a rwhp/rwtq gain? If possible, I would like to get a good set of bigger headers that results in gains without compromising low end tq. Trying to decide which brand header should I run.

Maybe try the 1 7/8 kooks headers with their new true duel set up. It is supposed to support 1200 horsepower.

would definately upgrade to 1 7/8 but can't speculate the amount of increase....maybe a conservative 15-ish? Plenty of torque with the 427...you wouldn't notice any low end loss, imo. might need another tweak in the tune too.

depending on budget, i would focus on ARH or Kooks and work your way down from there.

Id go 1 7/8s stepped to 2 at the minimum, if not 2 inches all the way. Texas speed tested their 1 3/4 against their 1 7/8s on a stock LS1. The numbers up to 4K were the same but after that i believe the 1 7/8s picked up about 8 across the rest of the rev range. So if they will make that much of a difference on a stock 346, they will make a big improvement on your car

Yea I thought it would benefit my setup. After all, part of my build has the FAST intake 102/102 TB combo. So that should definately wake it up. What's kinda stopping me is the ground clearence. Right now, the SLP LTs fit pretty good with these redesign ones. I had them for two yrs. I wonder if my SLP catback will fit with the ARH or Kooks headers. If possible I would like to keep the catback. I have no desire to do the true dual setup.

Anyone know how this size header fits with the stock f-body K-member? Any clearance issues etc?

I do believe that the stock k member needs to be notched a bit, I too will be running a 2in on my 416 build but thank goodness I got that k-member in already.

CETA you got an awesome build! I think 2in FTW and you'll REALLY need a diff upgrade then

Then when the budget allows get that FAST 102 you'll have a beast then LOL

Thanks man. I understand what you mean with "FTW" but I already have the FAST 102 setup with the 102 tb. I think that my 85MM maf and 1 3/4 headers are holding back some rwhp/rwtq. My setup is pretty nasty even with current support mods.

I was thinking of getting them sometime in Jan. I'm trying to decide on kooks or ARH. I got the ARH catalog recently and they advertised their headers put down anywhere from 30rwhp to about 40 maybe 45rwhp and about 45rwtq. So anyone else seen the ARH catalog?

You need to open up the entire intake tract to 100mm plus. An FTP 104mm lid, TSP 100mm MAF, 2 inch primaries and adding a Flowmaster merge to your y pipe should add a healthy # to your engine
