Newbie intake questions I'm new to the LS motors so have mercy on me...
I am in the midst of swapping an '06 truck 4.8 DBW into my '64 Chevy II and have a couple questions about intake manifolds. The stock truck intake fits fine, it's just a little on the ugly side...
If I install an intake from a Vette (for example), will it adversely effect performance with the small cube motor? Will the sensors, fuel rails and throttle body from the truck work with the Vette intake, or should everything be changed out? Are there certain years or models that would work better than others?
I want to keep things pretty much stock (heads and internals) for the time being.

Truck instakes are much taller then car intakes so a lot of the parts will not switch over. If you have a truck motor and you try to put a car intake on it you will need to make sure you get the car fuel rails, injectors, throttle body, and water pump.
Performance wise the car intake will most likely pick you up some top end power, but give up some low end. The truck intakes have great midrange and low end flow numbers, but they give up a little on top. So if you just need a car to cruise around I would stick with the truck intake. If the car if more of a drag car then the car intake might work a bit better.
