Car not starting I just replaced the starter and this i what i get. Is my starter not kicking out?

I can't see the vid at work but what I've found is that you have to shim the starter. Some of them will hit the fly wheel or flex plate when they try to engage. Others will be to far away and won't engage at all. The best way that I've done it is to lay under the car and energize just the solenoid and see where the gear hits. You are supposed to space it using the little rod that comes with most starters. Good luck with that when the tranny is in place.

Hi,the above is correct........you can remove the starter and jump it with battery cables while sitting on the work bench. If it dances (works) shim to mesh flywheel to avoid premature failure and damage. Make sure you are in park/neutral or have clutch depressed.........the battery is fully charged???????????to check solenoid connect positive lead to s terminal....if starter motor operates the solennoid is good. The problem lies in the ignition switch/neutral safety/wiring. I hope this helps you.........have a blessed day jim..
