Default Talk to me about LS heads

So I'm new to the LS game. I'm putting the final touches on a LS2 into a '67 Firebird swap.

Added coolant and it's leaking from the first header bolt hole on the drivers side. I'm almost sure I must have done while drilling out a broken manifold bolt.

I say almost sure because I discovered the broken bolt after I had the engine home. Not sure if the damage was done, but more than likely I did it.

So, first any chance my local engine shop can repair it?

Second, if I go looking for a replacement or replacement set which heads interchange with 243's?

Are the 243's worth trying to get repaired?

Yeah 243's are found on LS6/2's and make good power. Lot's of LS1 guys upgrade to them. A 799 is the same casting just a different foundry so that will work too...

any chance some loc-tite thread sealant would stop the leak? If not, you could go with LS3/L92 heads if you replace the heads.

I was wondering the same thing... Maybe some thread sealant. And the ls3/l92 heads would be the way to go, like the guy above said, if your gonna swap it out but you need to get a different intake too.

yup different intake, but they can be had for less than $280 with injectors and fuel rails on Ebay.
