TEA/WCCH/DR J's/TSP to name a few. There are a few articles around comparing all of them.

I'm makin this thread to see who got what done and what results..I'm looking to get these heads done as pretty much the last thing to the Engine, it has a decent Cam in it already, and I dont see the FAST LSXR 102/102 TB worth going to for the gain/money spent aspect.

Richard at WCCH Stage 3 L92's here. Richard has them flowing high quality air with LS7 numbers. They are a thing of beauty.

They were on the top of my list to send them too..I'll have to call them monday.

It doesnt show a link on their site where there is a direct cost for porting ones that you send in..

The TEA Stage 1 looks good too.

Then why are you doing CNC heads?

CNC LS3 heads are worth 25-30hp (ish) from all the results Ive seen. Most CNC Heads are $2000 (arent they?). FAST intake 12-15hp for $1000. Same dollar/hp, except its a bolt on??

I have the LSXR and CNC LS3 heads, the only way to go...

FAST 102/102 setup is about $1400..minimal gain for my 408 from what I've researched, there is a thread on this here.
TEA Stage 1 is $1100 roughly, atleast 25hp gain.
Dollar for dollar the Heads are what I need to work on right now, and where I will see the most gain. I'm keeping my Holley 90mm TB & stock L76 Intake.

and

Rich is a GREAT guy! He and I have B.S. on the phone for hours. He will give you all the info you need and then some.

I just sold my WCCH L92 stg 2, but Rich will be getting a set of new L92s real soon, to apply his Stg3 magic to them, then once I get them back from Rich, I am going to take them out for a night on the town and then to a hotel to make sweet sweet love to them

SweetS10V8,

Your signature quote by John Lingenfelter says it all.............too bad most people these days still don't realize it.

Small cams can be used and they will outpower bigger cubed engines with big *** cams......thats why I like builders who do things right and can use rather small/tiny cams and make more power than other builders, by far.......they let their heads do most of the magic.

All the trusted big named L92's are on the same track from all the posts and feedback if anyone would use that as advice. One is not going to put down an honest 15hp over another on a typical DD street cammed 6.0/6.2 unless there was a problem IMO. If someone has dyno sheets proving other wise please post and inform us all.

For Hell's sake that recent Hot Rod test showed most ported L92's being within 7-8HP on a 750+HP Motor (thats within 1% from each other and typically within the dyno's range of error between pulls, meaning its more or less the same).

IMO get something that fits your budget with hollow valves, American made Ti retainers, and a spring that has the proper rate/pressure for your cam. There is not more you'd be able to get out of it.

I personally have TEA L92's with all the goodies. But I would be more than comfortable getting PRC's/AI's etc if the price was the same - I'm sure I would have the same dyno results give or take a few hp. Spending $400+ to get the other guys comparable product is probably not going to get you (proportionally) that much farther IMO.

Don't use flow numbers like a ruler, different heads were all flowed on different benches. Use logic and sense, good luck.

Your gonna love them, I wish i would have taken pictures of my ports before i installed my TEA's, they do great work, I droped my heads off and picked them up personally from TEA. They even called me to let me know that my bases, retainers and locks from my (new) .650 Patriot spring kit where complete garbage, but they could install them if i wanted them too, but it would be better to go with Comp hardware with the patriot springs. So i said go head and put the Comp hardware. Glad to know they where looking out for me, and not just trying to make a buck.

What was wrong with them? I have a PRC .660 Dual Coil Kit on mine that I bought back in 2007 from TX Speed when I first put the car together. I'm sending them assembled and they are checking everything for me. I wonder what the lifespan of them Springs are..they have about 16k on them now.

Did they even touch the Exhaust side?

None, and i do mean none, of the base or retainers where the same thickness, it was clearly visible to naked eye. I could only imagine if you put a micrometer on them. I forget what was wrong with the locks, but they said almost every patriot spring kit is like that. They said the springs are great, but the hardware is just not quality.

Ya they look kinda sketchy..I can see that price for the Intake ported, stock Valves & Seats, and a Spring Kit..not as extensive as what TEA told me earlier.

I'll have a total of $1700 in mine after porting, including Rockers & Pedistals..plus $300 with the Springs.

Unimpressive numbers considering they were flowed on a 4.155 bore.
