new to the ls2...

sorry dont no much about them....do they just use the front coolant tubes on the block? like they use the gm coolant crossover correct? which valley cover style do the use

they use the ls2/7 valley cover.
not to sure about the crossover though.

I'm pretty sure GM stopped using the rear steam ports when they went to the LS6 manifold due to lack of clearance underneath it. So, it was before the advent of the LS2...
