Default What size are 1.875 headers REALLY

Whas size are 1.875 headers in reality? Are they 1.875 ID or OD? Im currently building a set of stainless headers for my LS conversion and am using 2 inch OD 16 guage tubing, which is 1.875 ID. In retrospect, I wonder if that is a little big. Just a general question about headers. Thanks Eric L

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nominal_Pipe_Size

Metal pipes/tubes are measured from the outside. Flexible hoses are measured from the inside.

Doesn't sound too big to me.....depending on motor c.i./goals/desired powerband.

You may give up some bottom end with that big of primary size. I used to run a 1 5/8 stepped to 1 3/4 and those things had insane midrange. I switched to a full 1 3/4 and top end power picked up from 4-5k and up but midrange felt weak and soggy in comparison.
