Default What is this part on a 2010 LS3?

I just received the engine/trans out of a 2010 Camaro SS. I was wondering if any of you know what this part is? The part I'm wondering about is the one that looks like a stacked set of plates. This is on the drivers side below the exhaust manifold..
Thanks
Paul

Really! I wouldn't have guessed that but am glad to hear it as I was thinking of adding an oil cooler but now won't bother.

Thanks for the great answers Guys!

So upon closer inspection with some daylight, it is clear this is an oil cooler that uses the water in the radiator system to cool the oil in this unit. However, I am switching pans for my '68 Camaro and the new Street and Performance pan doesn't have this heat exchanger.

I'm tempted to now run an external oil cooler to mirror the way GM design. If GM felt it was necessary, who am I to determine otherwise. Thoughts?

Thanks,
Paul
