Default LS2 Bore size max?

I was wondering what an LS2 can be bored to & what the strength differences are between them?

sleeved or no? i believe ERL wet sleeves to 4.185" (185 over from a stock 4") but thats like the absolute max. atleast thats what ive been told.

4.030" is common.

4.005-4.010 is the most common and safe for most all applications

Well if you remove material, its not going to make it stronger. LS2 blocks are not like the LS1 blocks, they can be opened up bigger but you have to consider how much power you want to make.

ERL offers a stock sleeve LS2 short block at 4.030" for a "street turbo" application (V1). I would think it could take a pretty decent amount of power, considering what people are doing with "street cars" these days, but they can probably tell you the most power someone has put to one of those.

Granted that was with boost, but still.

I took mine out to 4.030" and this happened.
That damage doesn't necessarily mean it was from the liner being too thin, but just too much stress on the aluminum block.
