Ls7 rods Anyone know where to get stock or after market rods for the ls7 in a 2006 z06?
My brother spun two rod bearings in his z06 and gm wants 2400 for a set of 8. He would like to just put in two but if cheaper to go after market he would replace them all. Any options you have let me hear them.

Ya sadly a new piston/rod combo would be a fair deal cheaper than new rods from GM. :-(
Granted said aftermarket rods won't be titanium.
The whole reason GM went to titanium was the weight. Reduced stress and increased hp in a motor that drive like stock. They needed to get every once of power out of an incredibly civil motor.

I think there's a set in the classified for $400.
Remember the stock crank is balanced for the titanium rods. Using steel rods would require a rebalance and a substantial amount of heavy metal.
