Default Radiator Cap Question 15 or 18 lb, or does it matter?

So, I ordered the radiator, fans and gas tank for the Firebird and was about to order the cap and it occurred to me, which cap do I order.

The LQ9 is from a 2004 Silverado SS which calls for a 15 lb psi cap

The 2000 Camaro calls for an 18 lb psi cap.

My thought is to go with the 15 lb psi cap, because the LQ9 may not be able to handle the constant 18 lb psi?

So the question is, will a 15lb cap fit into the 2000 Camaro radiator?

I would use the 18psi cap myself. The block is going to be able to handle it no problem, It's usually the radiator or hoses that give out long before the block and they are designed to hold more than that. The more pressure you put on a liquid the higher the boiling point. In simple terms the 18lb cap won't let the system boil over as easily as 15lb would, Neither will matter if the rest of the cooling system is in good condition.

The Silverado cap doesn't work in the '00 radiator anyhow. I'm going to be using, I think, the Camaro hoses and vent pipes, so it should be good.
