Vacuum pump on unopened LSx454

Vacuum pump on unopened LSx454 Hi all, after some info from the knowledgable guys on here. I have a crate stock LSx454, it does have an 8itb throttle body set up. At wide open throttle under load on the dyno is pushes the dip stick. I have a pretty average eBay special catch can set up.
So have been looking at options, and have read good things about vacuum pump set ups like Moroso, or GZ motor sports. But I have been told that ideally the rings need to be changed to take advantage of the set up.
Is that correct, or is there gains to be had as it is. The engine has done less than 500 miles.
I want to lose the catch can, and I like the idea of picking up a few hp with a pump set up.
All thoughts appreciated.

I had the same problem with the dipstick on my old LS2-402. The GZ Mortorsports Sportsman Vacuum Pump did the trick. The motor rev'd faster, too! The engine had about 2,000 miles on it, but I don't think mileage matters. Wet Sump pumps work in similar ways and the newer Z06's come from the factory with Wet Sumps.
