L76 Engine Noise after DOD Delete

Default L76 Engine Noise after DOD Delete

Hey guys, I have been searching for several nights and have came to no answer. We have been working on a 6.0 L76 G8 that started having the dreaded DOD lifter noise. We installed a DOD Delete, 220R TSP Cam, new 3-bolt gear, new springs, and pushrods. Put everything back together and the motor had some idling/hard start issues which were addressed when tuned. Now, the car will run fine until warm, then start to make a ticking/knocking noise under load and high idle. The car is not lacking power at all during these noises. All help would be appreciated.

Valve train tick, lifter tick, rod knock, clacking noise etc need some more description as to the location of the noise and what type heavy light etc. Did it chew up the old cam and lifters. If so very easily could be rod or main bearings. We scrap them when they have had metal through them from DOD/lifter cam failure tooooo much liability for long term reliability.

Could be something as simple as oil pump screen oring. Could be majorly screwed also. Did you measure the pushrods to make sure they are correct length.

We replaced the oil pickup oring when we had the pan off. Pushrods are stock length, which was recommended when we ordered the cam. The cam lobe that had lifter failure was losing its coating, but we did not find any metallic in the oil or screen. The lifter failure only made the noise for about 20 minutes of driving before we tore it apart. The noise is not a consistent noise, it sounds like a spark knock passenger side. The noise doesn't sound deep in the engine but it doesn't sound like up top either.
