Default What engine

Hi all! I previously bought a 2000 camaro that the owner claimed had an LQ4 in it. Having found several false claims, I'm starting to doubt this. How can I easily tell what engine is in my car?

you should be able to find some sort of serial number on it somewhere. it might be hard to find being that its cramped in the engine bay. but if you do find it just write it down and plug it into google and it should give you something. other then that i don't really know how to tell by looking at it. also if he kept the lq4 heads too they would be marked with 317 on the top just to the outside of the valve cover bear the front, very easy to see/find. but those heads will fit any LS as well as any other head he could of put on a lq4. the lq4 for also has dished pistions i believe so you could yank a head off. i really dont know other then that. hope that helps.
