it's a flat squirrel looking thing that has a nest in my front lawn. i had no idea it would do this. i can't wait to see the bill to fix this...

Have a good look around, especially the unfused wires coming from the battery and alternator as those could burn the car to the ground if compromised.
I got off lucky red squirrel just stole the firewall insulation from my truck.
Large rat traps can work for small squirrels if secured so they can't run off with them.

Wouldn't it be easier to connect them back together? It's a 2000 ws6 vert auto trans No traction control.

Well the inside part of the harness disconnects under the passenger kick panel so you just need to replace the engine and transmission section and the connectors

yikes, looks like most of the harnesses are not available for purchase, and the engine harness looks to be upwards of 2 grand

That;s about 2 hours work to repair with a soldering gun and heat shrink it's not major by any means. Go grab a junk pcm harness connector section from any ls truck to steal pins from and you only have one solder joint to make

I've seen some horrible mouse/rat/squirrel/chipmunk damage to wiring harnesses. Take your time, solder and shrink wrap are your friends. Kill that squirrel, you'll feel better and you'll know he won't be doing it again.

I hear you all and decided to pay a car audio place $150 to do it. Towed the car there for $50. As for the culprit, I haven't seen it in a while. I should have kept the engine bay clean huh?! Another life lesson I guess. I can't wait to move away from here...
