Take the header off, color the surface that touches the head with a sharpie, wrap something solid and flat with a piece of sandpaper and give it a lught hit to see if that's the problem.
Warping happens from the welding process not from being on the car.., sanding it flat post welding will not be a problem. If it's even an issue at all
Got the car back together. Zero smell in the car now. The slip fits are also not leaking at all. I found these clamps I never heard of on Ebay and they are easily the best exhaust clamp I have ever used.
