Default LSX 427/4.0L whipple build.

I'm kinda new to the fuel injection world and I'm trying to figure some stuff out electronics wise. I'm in the process of build a blown lsx 427. I have gotten to a point to where iv hit a wall.
I am I desperate help on the computer and harness I need to use to get this thing to run as a daily driver but also have the 1k Hp when ever I want it. Now I know it will need to be tuned on a dyno and all that good stuff, but if someone could point me in the direction of a computer system and harness that will work for me It would be greatly appreciated! This motor is going in a 96 Silverado. And yes, it will still have a/c power steering and all that good stuff. I would still like to use cruise control and power windows and that good stuff but also not have to worry about service engine lights coming on 24/7. Please guys, I know y'all can help me and I'm In need.

You need to use the existing 96 Silverado computer and wiring harness. Just label all the plugs so they can be re-installed on the new motor. The reluctor wheel will need to be 24 tooth and you will need to move the knock sensors to the sides of the block and some other plugs all available from: http://www.casperselectronics.com/st...oducts_id=1224 It will retain all its accessories and you will need a really good tuner. If an idiot tunes it, you will lose all your money.

So the original computer can be reprogrammed to run a LS engine? And can it programmed to run the fans as well?

96 has an LT1 equivalent Vortec motor. The trucks didn't get the LS platform until 99.

Corvette in 97... F-Body 98... Trucks in 99.

I didn't know that. You will need to convert it: https://ls1tech.com/forums/conversio...-ls2-swap.html

The truck is completely stock as of now. Hasn't been taken apart for the swap yet. It still has the 5.7 vortec. I just don't want SES lights on and I still want abs, cruise control, power windows and all the good stuff. This truck will be still be a daily driver. Just have no idea really on what to do about getting it to run with the computers and wiring harnesses.

You would be light years ahead by just buying one with an LS motor inside..... save hundreds of hours in swap/sorting/wiring/headache.

Also if you bought a 2500 series truck it would have a 4L80E trans already. The internals of a 4L60/4L65E look like twigs compared to a 4L80E. In addition if you bought a 4wd truck.... it would be able to actually put the power down on a normal "street" tire. The front/rear differentials are also much beefier in a 2500 series truck.

If you want reliability... you don't want 1500 series wimpy parts.

Let's value your Silverado at $1K.... even if you bought a $6K newer truck with the correct parts from the get go.... you would be saving a ton of money in the outcome. A 4L80E with a shift kit can handle big power.... a 2004.5+ LS motor has the better LS2 rods... that people are pushing 900rwhp thru.... stock motors with upgraded cam, LS9 head gaskets, head studs.

I agree with ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Just buy a 2005+ 2500HD and do your engine swap.
