Default 2 pins enough for procharger?

I'm installing an F1-D procharger on my GTO with a 403 and bought the ATI super damper along with their jig. I didn't realize that they want you to pin from the side and to me that doesn't seem like it would hold so I used the two 3/16" x 1/2" long dowel pins and a jig my buddy had to do his D1 and drilled from the front like most do. Would those two smaller pins be enough? I just now found the pin that came with the procharger kit and it's 1/4" x 3/4" which is much bigger so I thought I would ask the pro's.

If you have a 403, then your crankshaft should have a key way.

My eagle did not have a key either. And one pin in the side of my crank was not enough for a d1 on 14lbs. It spun on the crank.
