Default Custom 100mm maf or 85 mm? Issues

I sold my Ls1 maf and air lid and need to upgrade, since I'm going with a h/c/i bolton ls2

Has anyone had tuning issues using the spectre 100 mm housing with an ls3 or ls7 maf sensor?

I also want to get an ftp 104 lid.

Or would it be more tuner friendly and reliable with an 85 mm maf and a 98 mm lid?

Seeing as you live in Houston and it's relatively flat there... Unl;ess you plan on going in the mountains why not just use the tube alone and go Speed Density? That's what I did here in Lafayette, LA.

4" Spectre straight pipe (no bung) with a coupler at the TB and at the neck of the SLP lid (it has a 4" OD)

It's just a thought.

The tuner told me today he would rather use a 100 mm maf instead of an SD tune on a N/a car.

Is there any fuel mileage or any other issues with your Sd tune? Any performance increase?

I really would like an SD tune because it will save the expense of a new maf.

Some say the SD tune is "snappier" because it response much faster than the MAF (heater wire element, air must change temp of the wire thus changing resistance).

A MAF is quite a bit more accurate at WOT and does a better just adjusting to changes to atmospheric density changes. Power wise there should be no difference.

I currently am running SD but honestly I can't tell the difference response wise. I'll probably be going back to hybrid just for the security blanket.
