So I have a few questions, doing an LQ4 swap into this 72' (pictured) that I got for next to nothing. I'm wanting it to be a stock bottom end sans rod bolts LQ4, TH400 with an appropriate stall, 12 bolt with 3.73. I'd like to keep it fuel injected and if possible run E85 (if that's possible on a stock LQ4, and if so I don't know what parts I'll need). The car will need a cam that is useable naturally aspirated, but will also perform well as a car will in the long run see a turbo (if anyone could point me in that direction as well eventually, that would be cool too). Now, I already have a good set of 799's with Comp .650 springs in them and could just buy a Holley/F.A.S.T. intake and injectors (which I also don't know the size of which I need to buy), but I'm wondering if it won't make more power with LS# heads and intake? The car will be driven on weekends, and occasionally to the track. I'm still sort of new to this so any help is appreciated.
799s are the best flowing cathedral ports you can get, but your compression will be a little high for pump gas and boost unless you have a good tune. E85 will be fine.
Truck intakes also make more power/torque than the car intakes.
You need to decide N/A or boost, they're 2 very different directions. With boost, you can change nothing and makes tons of power. With N/A, you need to change everything to make power.
