Ls7 clutch problems

Default Ls7 clutch problems

OK so I recently picked up a 01 Camara ss ls1 with a t56 6peed. the clutch went out so I ordered a Ls7 clutch kit scoggin dickey parts center (sdpc) and a new oem master and slave cylnder. had a gm certified tech inot all it all and bleed it and can out get a clutch pedal. the clutch will not disengage. I am being told it needs spacers to even be drivable. plzz help guys any knowledge is greatly appreciated on this. I need my car lol

You'll get a better response if you place this in the manual transmissions section under chasis, suspension, appearance

I use a LS7 clutch with a F-body slave and F-body bellhousing, no issues. The difference is that I use a Wildwood MC because this is not in a F-body, but I have zero problems.

Default spacers

i had a similar issue with the LS7 clutch...
I used a flat dimensional shim that fits behind the slave cylinder - effectively allowing the pressure plate to be pushed further. Prior to the shim, There was too much freeplay prior to engagement with the PP levers and the clutch barely disengaged.... apparently there are multiple thicknesses...I just bought and installed one..not sure if it was actually the ideal thickness.
