GTO LS2 Swap HELP NEEDED gto ls2 swap questions
Hey guys, I have an 86 chevy 2wd running Porterbuilt front drop memeber and I'm looking at putting an ls2 motor in. I found one from a junkyard out of a 2005 GTO said it comes with ECM and brain box. They are asking $3800 for everything and has about 85k miles on it. I was told they had another car out in the yard i can get the pedal out of. I'm just wondering if you guys could help me out with all of the items i would need and if mix and matching from different cars will work. A guy from a different site said the pedal, tac module have to match the ECM of the vehicle. Someone else said that with the GTO LS2 its hard to get features like cruise control and other feature comforts are difficult or impossible to get with the 2005 GTO PCM. Ive been doing a lot of research and can't seem to find all the info i need to make this decision. I'm wondering if this purchase would be worth it or if I'm just gonna end up dumping a bunch more money into it trying to get everything to work properly. Are there any sites the have this exact particular swap that i can use for a reference or have any of you guys done a full LS2 swap? Thanks for any help.
