Default LS2 transplant & upgrade to 65 Vette Auto-Xer

Looking for some insight on the best budget bang for the buck engine upgrades to bump my recently acquired 40K mile LS2 take out from 2005 corvette.
I personally viewed the engine running in the car with no issue, good temp, good oil pressure, just a solid running base LS2 engine.
I have an LS3 525 ASA take out cam , Not sure of the gains vs.issues with installing this cam ?
The only aftermarket part currently on the engine is Super damper. I have a Z06 batwing oil pan that I plan on using. But I am looking for some solid advice on the cam or other options trying to keep the upgrade cost at <2000 or less. My goal is to get all I can with good street manors along with added power for autocross racing etc.
Thanks in advance

If you like the ASA cam, use it. I think it's a bit rough for street use, plus there are so many aftermarket cams that run smoother and give more power. Why switch to the batwing pan?

The batwing iis a better option to control oil with an autocross/hard cornering car etc

I'm not sure what is involved in using the LS3 ASA cam in an LS2 etc ?

Ask around but more compression (thinner gasket), dual valve springs, proper length pushrods, headers, and intake manifold updates are great low buck hp adders.

A cam designed for your Cathedral head LS2 (such as the Cam Motion LS2 stage 3
218/224 116+3) would be Much better than THE ASA LS3 cam, for your goals &
application. A used FAST 90 or 92 if staying fuel injected along with 1 3/4 "
long tube Headers would help as well.

I would do headers first. Intake second. Very close second. The ls2 intake is pewp.

One surprising upgrade for performance is a lighter clutch. You would be amazed how much that helps acceleration. Lighter rotors also. And rear gear.

Normally I would say do everything above before the cam swap but ls2 cam is known to float valves. I agree with Navy. Would recommend cam motion grind. Something in the 224/230 range will drive and run great. Minimize your overlap. Around 2 degrees max. Lift around .600. You can get springs and pushrods pretty cheap from BTR.

You can get more power cheaper by just going insane on the cam, but if street manners matter, there it is.
