Building An LS3

I am currently saving up for an LS3 build I want to do to drop in a 4th Gen Monte SS. I would like to make close to 600 crank horse power. Trying not to be married to any one number. This is going to be a NA motor nonstroked. I plan on using a stock LS3 intake with a 92mm throttle body, Chevrolet Performance CNC-Ported LS3 Cylinder Heads part 88958758, still have to figure out the cam (will change the valve springs once cam is figured out), 99.9% going to convert to manual, 12 bolt 3:73 gears, and will up the compresson to at least 11:1. I know that I have a lot more to figure out to get a better idea of the power it will make but is this a good start? I have time to save at the moment so at least in theory money is not an issue. any advise is most apperciated.

That will be gravy with the right intake. We just installed gpi heads and ss4 cam in a buddy's c6. We're hoping to see 550whp range.

As Hio said, easy shot! A good LS3 with the right induction and cam will do 600+/- in its sleep!

What would you suggest? I am keeping the motor naturally asperated.

I suggest you say how fast you want the car at the moment and go from there.

We should have some hp numbers after this weekend.

I would go with Texas Speed ported LS3 heads, milled to achieve the CR you're looking for. Abot $750 if they port your stock heads.

Then I'd contact Cam Motion for their cam recommendation.
