LS3 Steam Vent
LS3 Steam Vent I am planning on swapping a LS3 into a 4th gen Monte Carlo SS and was curious what the best way to route the steam vent. Tapping the water pump seems to be the cleanest way but when the time comes to replace I will have to re-tap. THe othe options are finding a swap radiator that has the steam port on it or buying one of the upper radiator hose adapters.

I've done it al the three you listed above. If you a using a generic aluminum I would buy a 3/8 pipe bung and the weld it to the radiator. The radiator hose adapter works well. Tapping the water pump works. My 98 Wrangler LS swap has been like that for over ten years with no issues. If I had to replace the water pump I would weld a bung to the radiator instead of tapping the pump. Steam like to go up not down towards the water pump.
