Default Throttle Body Location

Does anyone know if the car or aftermarket intakes move the throttle body closer to the firewall when compared to the truck intakes? I know they are not as tall, but do they also make for a motor that is not as long? I have a TBSS intake on my 5.3 LY5 block and am having an interference issue with the intake tubing and the radiator. It's a very tight fit in an early CJ5.

Thanks,

Mike

Do you have room at the rear of the engine to turn the manifold around? This is done on some rear/mid engine swaps/kit cars.

Generally the aftermarket intakes require more room not less. Maybe the answer is a carb style intake and a hood scoop?
