Power steering pump relocation I’ll be fabricating a drivers side turbo manifold for my 2009 G8 GT with the L76 engine. I’ll be doing this within the next month and I’m trying to get some more room for a downpipe to fit between the engine and strut tower. Has anyone relocated their power steering pump so that it was mounted more towards the center of the engine? Will any LS bracket work on the L76 pump?. Thanks in advance!
Have any pics? Mite have to fab up a custom bracket. Maybe alil reverse engineer from the bracket you do have. Been down that road, changn 1 thing always changes 5 other things too. But thats hotrodding
you could try going to a fbody bracket for the PS pump and pulley ( not sure if the pump is interchangeable or not. its not more central but sets quite a bit higher than the water pump pulley center to center and is more ontop of the alternator than the l76. Assuming google pics didnt lie to me
Have you ever thought about just going electric power steering? I got a pump off a 2007 Volvo V50. Only 3 wires to hook up and it works so good. Super nice having power steering with key on engine off. The pumps are $30 in yards.
