How did that happen? Seems like a odd failure. I have two 6.0 motors one is a 2003 with 409,000 miles and the other is 2007 with 450,000 miles. I thought these things were bullet proof with all the miles I have on them. Guess not.
the reason mine ate a piston and spun the bearing was because of detonation on that cylinder. i put a cam that this truck wasn’t tuned for in it and thought it was close enough in specs to run. Live and learn. i’m not too upset about it, it just means faster truck and me getting rid of that tick it had since I bought it 🤘🏻
here’s a little update! bored and hone .0030 over. Forged wiseco Pistons, forged eagle specialty H beam rods, King race bearings for rods and mains. new ARP headstuds, new can bearings, new gaskets, basically re did the entire motor. she’s gonna be a beast though! checking out from summit really hurt my heart clicking submit order seeing a 2 before the comma haha all new everything! mains/rod journals were perfect after the crank was ground
